Her Story

A Celebration of Grace, Leadership & Excellence

Christianna Gray is a vibrant, compassionate, and driven 15-year-old and an 11th-grade student at Marian Catholic High School, where she serves as President of the Black Student Union — the school's largest club, with more than 140 members. She resides in Chicago's south suburbs with her family.

From the very beginning, Christianna's gifts were unmistakable. At just nine months old she began speaking in complete sentences, and by her first birthday she had learned to read over 150 words. Known to family and peers as vibrant, friendly, smart, compassionate, and creative, she has grown into a young woman of remarkable voice and conviction.

Through the 2027 Chicago Chapter program, Christianna embraces the values at the heart of the cotillion — grace, leadership, and a commitment to community. Her path includes a collaborative community service project, youth leadership development, a mother–daughter tea, formal portraits, and the cotillion itself.

This milestone is not hers alone. It honors the legacy of the women who came before her and the community that surrounds her.

✦

A Voice for Her Community

Christianna discovered a love for public speaking early and is often invited to speak at local public and private schools, churches, and organizations such as Rainbow PUSH Coalition. At just 11 years old, after speaking for the oldest sorority, AKA, Inc., she was blessed to receive a full scholarship to Tennessee State University.

Activism & Advocacy

Advocacy comes naturally to Christianna. She championed change at her school by creating two petitions — to add African American studies to the curriculum and to start a cheerleading team — collectively garnering over 275 signatures. In March 2025, she won the inaugural Moot Court Competition with the I Am Abel Law Foundation.

Honors & Recognition

On May 12, 2022, Christianna received a resolution honoring her achievements from the Honorable Toni Preckwinkle and Commissioner Donna Miller, and again in 2024 from Commissioner Scott Britton. In July 2025, she was honored to serve as an Illinois Delegate for the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. In September 2027, she received Student of the Month recognition from Marian Catholic High School and the Rotary Club of the South Suburbs.

Mentorship & Civic Engagement

Christianna is a member of TORCH & Laurel, a premier high school honors program that inducts fewer than 5,000 students nationwide. She is an ambassador for Care For All, a Youth Civic Ambassador for the NAACP Far South Chicago Chapter, and completed her first externship with the Circuit Court of Cook County, mentored by prominent Illinois Judicial Council judges.

Christianna aspires to earn a JD/MD and is being mentored by community organizations to prepare her for this awesome professional goal. She is an author, aspiring lawyer, real estate entrepreneur, motivational speaker, activist — and a future President of the United States.
